Simplified Alphabet

The New American Cursive® Penmanship Program is an easy-to-follow resource for teaching beginning cursive. It presents simplified letter forms, using multi-sensory methods to aid in learning the motor skills necessary to write well.

Developed by Iris Hatfield, with over 35 years of experience in the handwriting field, this program simplifies the process of teaching cursive handwriting.

The character Mr. Meerkat is the workbook's guide, making learning tasks fun; step-by-step, he shows the way to draw each letter. There are clear arrow directions for letter creation, and plenty of shaded letters to trace for practice. The books are bound at the top for equal access for left- and right-handers. The NAC Penmanship Program encourages creativity and allows for individuality.

Also available is the StartWrite-driven handwriting worksheet program. This software allows teachers to produce their own customized copysheets with the New American Cursive® font set, including instructional starting dots and arrows. It is offered here at a special price.

Our Workbook Advantages

Our program is easy to teach. It takes just 15 minutes a day. Students no longer write repetitious sentence after sentence. Instead, this legible cursive style can be integrated into the curriculum with the StartWrite/NAC worksheet software.

Cheryl Lowe,
Head of Highlands Latin School
“Students are excited about their cursive penmanship and parents are pleased to see their enthusiastic children write beautiful papers. "

Glenda, Idaho Homeschool Mom

"I have used this curriculum with my 8-year-old son, who is dyslexic, and my 5-year-old daughter, who wants to write cursive like her big brothers and sisters, with great success.  It is very straight-forward and easy to understand for both parent and the child.  I have had my children try many, many different styles of handwriting over our 10 years of homeschooling, and this has been one of the easiest with the best results.  Legible, neat handwriting is still a skill worth perfecting.  This program is providing that for my children."
