New American Cursive Handwriting Contest for Grades One Through Three
Entry Deadline: April 10th
Encourage your students to enter the NAC Penmanship contest. The excitement of the contest can be a great incentive for students to practice their best handwriting.
Handwriting Contest Instructions:
Each entry needs to be written on 8 ½ x 11 white paper, lined or unlined, or use one of the reproducible pages in the back of the NAC workbook, or one of the templates provided on the website. The sample can be written with either pen or pencil. Philippians 4:8 or The Pledge of Allegiance can be used (but not required) for the handwriting sample. The sample should be confined to one page of writing.
Three handwriting specialists will judge the entries submitted. They will score the cursive entries on legibility, neatness, shape, slant, spacing, size, spelling and accuracy. Entries will be judged by grade level.

- This contest is open to students in grades one through three who are using The New American Cursive alphabet.
- On the front of the entry page the student needs to include age, grade and gender.
